This morning i was sleeping and a call came in my mobile.it was one of my friend Saunak... he was in quite excitement to buy a DSLR . I have a DSLR and he want suggestion from me.
I had patience to wait, to wait for the right time. Then my father passed away and me, my brother and my mom all started passing a tough time.Good thing was we had excellent support from my extended family but ofcourse there is no scope of luxury.
Then i got selected in Job interview..... first year of my job passed just to recover the financial condition of my family, in second year there were some savings and at the end of the second year I had just the saving to fulfill my dream, and in an impulsive decision i bought my DSLR:nikon D5100 with 18-55mm kit lens.
I wait for 15 years for the time ...and when time came i did an impulsive decision. yah...life goes in this way..full of irony..:D

Below are some points you need to consider--
1) Don't invest money on megapixel, you dont need more than 10-12 megapixel unless you have plan to develop hard copy of your image file in big wall paper size. Quality of image depends on the quality of glass used in lens and the sensor-microchip in your DSLR which decode the light information to machine language.
2) DSLR have two major parts, body and lens.Its recommended to give more importance in lens than body of the camera.
3) optimal performance of a lens comes when it is used with the dslr body of the same vendor.for example nikkor lens best results with nikon body, canon lens best results with canon body.So try to buy lens from the same vendor of camera body.
4)70-300mm lens is mainly for wildlife photography where you need to capture image of a distant object . vibration reduction (VR) technology is a must for this kind of lenses because slight vibration of your hand can destroy your image into blur unless there is VR,
55 mm is the aparture of human eye , so whenever you use a lens like 70-300mm , you always use some kind of zoom ,so this kind of lens is not very much useful in normal photography like wedding/party/streat/micro etc... using 70-300mm means you will be deprived a wide range of options.18-55mm lens is best suited for normal photography thats why its the default aparture for every DSLR.decision is yours.
5)buying a dslr is a large investment of money . Dont buy a DSLR in an impulsive decision and collect knowledge first, this site is extremely useful:http://digital-photography-school.com/ .
6) And the last suggestion : please make sure that
a) you have patience to learn photography which is not a child's play. It require patience , and ofcourse time .
b) Almost all the effects can be produce by photoshop that an expensive DSLR can make. Photos taken in an ordinary camera , edited in photoshop can take more appresiation than a photo taken in DSLR.
c) unless you want to be a professional photographer, there is no need to buy a DSLR at all.For amature photography a decent point and shoot camera with fair knowledge of photoshop can do things just excellent.
Choice is yours... :D
